La Retorta from Finca Pascualete , produced in the Extremadura pastures , has been recognised as the best cheese in Spain at the World Cheese Awards 2017, the most prestigious international competition in the sector. It has also been considered the sixth best in the world. Its creamy, almost liquid texture, its persistent flavour on the palate and in the memory, and the slight bitter touches that are perceived when tasting it were some of the characteristics that the jury praised of La Retorta from Finca Pascualete, chosen as the best cheese in Spain.
